From the doctorDr. Palmese is the Director of Neuropsychology in Neurology at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. During her clinical training, she was the recipient of a young investigator’s Travel Award for her research in opiate pharmacology and she also was granted a 3-year fellowship from the Center for Developmental Neuroscience for her clinical and research activities. During her 2-year fellowship in neurology at Columbia University Medical Center, she received an award to present research at an International Conference.

Presently, the primary focus of Dr. Palmese’s clinical and research activities is in the area of cognitive and mood changes associated with epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, and aging. She also works extensively with adults and children with various medical and psychological diagnoses, including language disorders, learning disabilities, stroke, AVMs, tuberous sclerosis, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, aphasia, and multiple sclerosis. In addition, Dr. Palmese is a co-investigator on a project assessing language functioning in individuals with epilepsy and she runs a cognitive remediation initiative for Parkinson’s patients and caregivers at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
