Doron S. Stember, MD, has joined the faculty of The Sol and
Margaret Berger Department of Urology at Beth Israel Medical Center.
Dr. Stember focuses on medical and surgical treatment of male subfertility,
erectile dysfunction and low testosterone. He has special interest
and training in minimally invasive penile prosthesis implantation,
microsurgical sperm retrieval in obstructive and non-obstructive
azoospermia, vasectomy and vasectomy reversal, treatment of Peyronie’s
disease, and testosterone replacement therapy including subcutaneous
testosterone pellet implantation.
Dr. Stember is the recipient of the prestigious 2010 Scholars in Sexuality
Research Award from the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, and
has presented his research at national and international urology conferences.
He has published nearly 90 journal articles, textbook chapters and
abstracts, and is a coauthor of the forthcoming textbook Clinical Care
Pathways in Andrology (Springer Publishing). Dr. Stember is a contributor
to the American Urological Association Core Curriculum, and serves on
the Board of Directors of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America.
Additionally, he received the Outstanding Resident Teaching award for
2012-2013 from the Department of Urology at Beth Israel.
After graduating from New York University School of Medicine,
Dr. Stember completed a general surgery internship and urology residency
at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Following his residency, he
performed a combined two-year clinical and research fellowship at
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (sexual medicine and
penile prosthetic surgery) and Weill-Cornell Medical College (male
reproductive medicine and microsurgery).
