During his medical training, Dr. Conway was the recipient of the Leon M. Davidoff Certificate of Distinction for teaching of medical students and a Lewis M. Fraad Scholar in Child Health. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Critical Care Medicine. He is currently Acting Chairman of the Milton and Bernice Stern Department of Pediatrics.
Dr. Conway is very involved in educational issues involving medical students, residents, fellows, nurses, nurse practitioners and was formerly the Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Training Program at the Children's Medical Center at Montefiore. He also served as the Director of the Research Training Course for fellows in the Department of Pediatrics. He is a member of the Eastern Society of Pediatric Research and Sigma Xi.
Dr. Conway has authored over 150 papers, chapters and abstracts on a myriad of pediatric emergency and critical care topics. Specific areas of interest in addition to educational issues include splanchnic ischemia, hyperthermia, nosocomial infections, pediatric head injuries, intracranial hypertension and outcomes analysis. He is an editorial Board Member of Pediatric Annals and reviews manuscripts for all major pediatric and critical care medicine publications. He is a member of numerous sections of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Critical Care Medicine as well as a member of numerous intrahospital committees which include pharmacy and therapeutics, infection control and ethics.
Dr. Conway was named in the 2011 edition of Castle Connolly’s “Top Doctors: New York Metro Area.”
