|From the doctor||Daniel MacGowan M.D. is a co-director of the Neuromuscular Disease and ALS Center at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City, Director of the Neurology Residency Program at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and Associate Professor of Neurology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is an expert in disorders of peripheral nerve and muscle, and has published articles in major journals with particular attention to motor neuron disease. He largely confines his practice to disorders of peripheral nerve and muscle.
Dr. MacGowan attended University College Dublin Medical School in Ireland, followed by an internal medicine residency at The Federated Hospitals of Trinity College Dublin, and received his postgraduate training in Neurology at New York Hospital Cornell Medical Center. After residency, he completed separated fellowships in cerebrovascular disease at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and electromyography (EMG) / neuromuscular disorders at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. MacGowan is a board certified member of The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, (with separate subspecialty certification in Clinical Neurophysiology), and of The American Board of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. MacGowan has presented and lectured at numerous regional seminars and national meetings.
