From the doctorBefore coming to Mount Sinai Beth Israel, Dr. Melone was the director of Orthopaedic Hand Surgery at New York University Medical Center. Dr. Melone is the hand surgeon for the New Jersey Nets, the New Jersey Devils and the Florida Marlins, as well as the hand surgery consultant for the Public School Athletic League, New York City Division. In addition, he is a former consultant to the New York Islanders and the New York Yankees. Dr. Melone serves as a member of the medical advisory board of the New York State Athletic Commission, and is a member of the Board of Regents of Georgetown University.

Dr. Melone is among New York Magazine's "Best Doctors" for 2013, which is excerpted from Castle Connolly's annual guidebook, "Top Doctors-New York Metro Area." He was also listed in the latest edition of "America's Top Doctors."
